My 6 Step Tranformational Forgiveness Technique
© 2002 Joseph Dube
- Locate Submodalities - The client is directed to relax and close their eyes and is asked to
a) "locate a person they respect and admire" - therapist notes submodalities V-A-K, then
b) "locate the person you dislike" - therapist notes submodalities V-A-K,
c) Break state
- Abbreviated EFT Sequence The therapist instructs the client to feel the full strength of the emotion (e.g., anger at the person)
and directs the client to proceed with the abbreviated EFT sequence, affirming "Even thought I feel this way about _, I deeply
love and accept myself'.) Repeat backwards.
- Innocent Baby Technique - The therapist instructs the client to close their eyes and visualize a timeline, placing the person
they would like to forgive and heal in the past, simultaneously imagining them as a baby, shrinking them down to infancy
(e.g., to approximately I year old). Have the client note how cute, innocent, happy and vulnerable they are at this age. Instruct
the client to send the intention to psychically reassure them that they "are safe" and secure and loved by a higher source
(e.g., GOD, spirit etc.). See the baby acknowledge and appear happy and well.
- Healing White Light - The therapist directs the client to bathe the baby/person in a pure, loving, healing white light which
provides for them everything that they need to feel whole and complete.
- Changing Belief Systems - The therapist instructs the client to move the baby/person surrounded by the bright white light to
position a) (the location of the person they respect and admire) - therapist confirms submodalities V-A-K.
- Anchor and Release - The therapist directs the client to hold and anchor this feeling by tapping their heart a few times, then
release with their final blessing. Test.
