Odd Phenomena By Elana Schondorf During my demo of Fast Phobia Cure, my mock client said he wanted to work on his "phobia" of broken glass - fear of getting cut with shards of broken glass. I usually do the pattern 3 times before I future pace. He opened his eyes and looked at me and exclaimed, "That's not it. It's not about my fear of broken glass." At this point, it was the last day in late afternoon as we were sitting by the pool training (at their request). I am thinking that perhaps my brain cells are a little fried at this point and maybe I wasn't listening to him intently. When I asked for clarification, he said he realized that it was not about the fear of being cut, but jumped back to the original memory of the trauma when he and his brother were breaking bottles and got scolded by his father about the dangers of broken glass. I never saw this before - especially not during this pattern. Come to think of it, I never had anyone go back to initial sensitizing event and have an "AHA" moment like this when using NLP. This was a revelation to him. Fascinating. Since I had taught almost the rest of the course at this point, we discussed reparenting technique, changing internal dialogue, etc. - exercises he could explore on his own. Another odd phenomenon was after that, I was introducing the Visual Squash. For some reason, I was describing it with my two hands rather than going straight to a demo. I started to feel tremendous tingling and heat, particularly in my right hand that continued to escalate. I showed this to a group member who works with energy and muscle testing. She verified the experience, as did the other group members. Obviously, my subconscious mind was ready to integrate something. They were all pretty spent at this point and they did ask about doing NLP on yourself, so I sat down and decided to self-heal, especially since my fingers and hands were twitching anyway. The work had already begun and they were amazed that a) it happened so quickly and b) that my conscious mind was not privy to what needed integration. Right afterwards, my right arm and right leg got slightly tingly and cool. They felt my hands and felt my hands to be cold. This was an obvious difference from just 3 or 4 minutes ago. Pretty unusual.
