A Forgiving Goodbye Technique

- Disassociation ... See yourself remembering a time that someone, caused you pain.
- How do you feet, see, smell, taste, and hear that pain?
- Break the anchor.
- Now see yourself remembering a time that you felt relief from pain.
- How do you feel, see, smell, taste, and hear that relief.
- Now think about a real place. Maybe you see this actual place each day on your
drive home or each week on a specific day. Place your feeling of relief in that special place.
- Break the anchor.
- Now see that person who caused you pain. See yourself putting that person in your special and actual place.
- See yourself waving goodbye to the hurt and pain that was caused by that person.
- Do this as often as necessary.
- Obviously you will find that, each time you pass this actual place, your need to wave will lessen.
- There will come a time when you no longer have to wave.
