Stop the Itch By Robert McKellar I was talking to my wife, you know sitting like her and doing the hand position thing. We were having a good chat when she told me about how this wart would not stop itching last night in bed. We talked some more and I asked her if I could put some NLP to work. She laughed and I said what do you have to lose. I was already aware that she was visual by the way her eyes moved as we talked. She was a good candidate for the sliding anchor. I asked her to place her forefinger half way on her right arm and she did. Then I asked her to imagine the itch. She said that she thought she could. When I asked what happened when she slid her finger up her arm slowly, she said nothing. I asked, the itch stays the same? She said with surprise, "no it got itchier". I asked her to slide her finger to the middle mark again. Then I asked her what "happens when you slide your fingers down toward the wrist? Then I told her that she has complete control over the itch now............ The next morning we were having breakfast and I asked her how the itch behaved. She said, "It worked great, but the mole on my other leg got itchy and I tried to use the switch but it wouldn't work, so I tried the other forearm and it didn't work, so could you please set up a switch for my other leg?" |
