After evaluating intake information, I would (and do) take some time to talk about the relationships between men and women from an anthropological and historical perspective. Explaining briefly how those relationships began, evolved, and eventually changed to what they are today. Adding that sometimes, where you've (we as human beings) been is often as important as where you're going in that it lends perspective to the journey.
